EeLs are ready to strike and have replace a free agent

The NRL is continuing to aim for the stars for its historic season opener in Las Vegas, with plans on to invite NFL household names Travis and Jason Kelce in the corporate suites at Allegiant Stadium on March 3.

Fox League has verified that the NRL has been in talks with the Kelce brothers since before Christmas and plans to issue an invitation to come to Australia for this year’s State of Origin series.

NRL 2023: South Sydney Rabbitohs, Sam Burgess, Jimmy Brings, Justin Pascoe, Wests Tigers, Manly Sea Eagles, rugby league news, reaction

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, definitely has bigger fish to fry right now as the Super Bowl approaches in Las Vegas on Monday week.

How could the Kelce brothers be interested in the greatest game of all, rugby league?

Jordan Mailata, Jason Kelce’s Philadelphia Eagles teammate and former Souths under-20s player, provides the link.

The NRL is also in talks with Mailata about bringing him to Las Vegas, but nothing is official at this time.

If — and this is obviously a big IF — they can land the Kelce brothers, is there any chance of pop queen Taylor Swift making an appearance?

Unfortunately, she will be in Singapore after just beginning her 12-month Eras tour around the world.

However, the NRL hopes to bring the Kelce brothers to Australia to witness a State of Origin game if they are interested.

“If the Kelce brothers want to come to the season opener in Las Vegas, we’ll be happy to accommodate them,” NRL Commission chairman Peter V’landys told us.

Despite a small number of NRL club members planning to shoot poison darts, the NRL’s Las Vegas vision head office is working hard to make the notion a reality.

It also has tremendous support from some of the game’s most powerful hitters

Manly manager Tony Mestrov has denied that Josh Schuster is being shopped around to rival teams.

Schuster signed an extension through the end of 2027 in June of last year.

“Let me be clear: Josh has not being marketed around. “That is just BS,” Mestrov replied.

“He’s anticipated to participate in the Roosters trial, and Josh has had his best off-season in a long time.

“He’s still working harder than ever in the gym and on his cardiovascular conditioning.

“Sure, he’s had some injuries, and he can’t do ball work right now due to his finger.

“Yes, he also had chickenpox.”.
