Alabama makes a bold prediction on RB injury update

The sight of starting running back Jase McClellan on crutches and in a walking boot on the sidelines during the final minutes of Alabama’s stunning last-minute victory over Auburn Saturday night was lost in the excitement of the game.

(Around the 0:58 mark of the postgame celebration video, you can see McClellan walk into the locker room on crutches.)

On the SEC Championship Game head coaches teleconference on Sunday, Alabama head coach Nick Saban spoke to the media and updated the status of McClellan.

“He’s had a little foot injury all year long,” Saban said. “He tweaked it in the game. He’ll be day-to-day this week. But I can’t tell you how much progress… the next 48 hours will tell us whether he’ll make the kind of progress he needs to be able to practice some and play in the game.”
