It is the 22-year-old’s third injury in a dismal season that saw him play just three games the previous year before suffering from a string of leg and shoulder issues.
Joe Brierty, the head coach of the Dockers football team, expressed his disappointment, saying, “Chappy has had such a great pre-season after a frustrating year with injury.”
“We will now wait for further information and our focus will be on giving Heath all of the support he needs and his teammates will get around him.”
Despite being selected with pick No. 14 in the 2020 draft, Chapman has only appeared in 26 games over his three seasons with the Dockers.
Chapman, who will take over the No.5 guernsey worn by Lachie Schultz, has been flagged to play more on the wing this season from his usual role in defence.
