NBA players, both past and present, are responding to the passing of an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.
Wednesday, Dejan Milojevic passed away in Salt Lake City, according to the Deseret News. After traveling to Utah for a match against the Utah Jazz, he was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night.
ESPN reports that Milojevic experienced a “sudden and serious health issue” on Tuesday during a team dinner at a restaurant.
The NBA had already declared that it would be postponing the Jazz-Warriors game before word of Milojevic’s passing spread.Vasilije Micic of the Oklahoma City Thunder honored his former head coach by posting a picture of himself with Milojevic on Instagram.
“Deki, my good. Peace be with you. I appreciate everything you’ve done,” he captioned the photo.
The Golden State Warriors and Milojevic’s family received condolences from Pau Gasol, a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
“What a devastating loss, my deepest sympathies go out to Dejan Milojevic’s family, friends, and everyone within the Warriors organization. He tweeted, “May his memory be a blessing, rest in peace.
