The Los Angeles Rams’ defence exceeded expectations this season, thanks to strong leadership from key players.
In an interview with LAFB Network at Super Bowl LVII Radio Row, Rams defensive back Quentin Lake stated that linebacker Ernest Jones was the defense’s leader.
“He had a significant impact on team morale this year. Not only does he play, but he also provides vocal leadership. The energy”What he brings to the team was critical for us this year,” Lake stated. “I believe [Jones] goes under the radar, especially for the Rams, because other players have had success. Man, Ernest Jones had a fantastic year, and I can’t wait to see what he does in the coming year, and hopefully for many more.”
Jones broke the Rams’ record for most total tackles in a season with 145, and he did so in only his third season in the NFL. He also recorded all of these tackles in only 15 games, missing Weeks 9 and 17.
