LATEST NEWS: Blue Devils have just lost him

Riley Leonard, the quarterback for Duke, announced his resignation from the Blue Devils on Wednesday by logging onto the transfer page.

He spent two seasons as a starter.

The change was made shortly after Texas A&M lured Mike Elko, Duke’s head coach, away.

Leonard rose to prominence right away as one of the football portal’s most gifted quarterbacks, if not the best.Ankle and foot ailments ended Leonard’s 2023 season, but he did contribute to the Blue Devils’ 4-0 start before suffering an injury on Duke’s final offensive play in a 21-14 loss to Notre Dame.

In just seven games this season, he threw for 1,102 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. In addition, he ran for 4 touchdowns and 352 yards. As Duke finished 9-4 in the previous season, Leonard rushed for 699 yards and 13 touchdowns in addition to throwing for 2,967 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
