Craig Fitzgerald is leaving Florida’s strength and conditioning department after only about a month.

GAINESVILLE, Florida — Craig Fitzgerald, recently hired as Florida’s director of football performance, is leaving to lead the strength and conditioning staff at Boston College, according to All Gators.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision to leave the University of Florida Football programme.”After much consideration, I have decided to join my decad.

“Bill and I have worked together for nearly ten years. Although it excites me to rejoin him, it pains me to leave a programme with such a promising future, comprised of hardworking, committed, and fine young men and staff. During my brief visit to this building, I noticed a culture of competition, professionalism, and dedication. I am grateful to Coach Napier for this opportunity and wish the Gators continued success.”

Florida hired Fitzgerald in December 2023, after head coach Billy Napier reassigned former Gators strength and conditioning director Mark Hocke to a player development position.
