Everton: Andy Gray shares PL relegation fear live on air after what Richard Keys said

Andy Gray confesses he is still “a little concerned” that Everton will be relegated from the Premier League this season.

The ex-Everton striker made the remarks before of the Toffees’ match against Manchester City on Wednesday (27 December) at Goodison Park.

Everton fell 3-1 at home after grabbing the lead in the first half, leaving them just one point ahead of 18th-placed Luton Town.

“They’ve got to be careful,” host Richard Keys remarked on beIN SPORTS [27 December]: “But I don’t see them getting into serious trouble.”

“I’m still a little concerned, to be honest with you, but that’s just natural because it’s my team,” Gray responded.

“Obviously, I’m still a little nervous because the teams below have done well.”

However, this is a results-driven league, and Luton have taken six points from six in the same time frame.

Everton and the Hatters have now played 18 games and are separated by just one point, so every result now is crucial.

Sheffield United and Burnley are not yet out, but Luton Town appear to be the strongest bet of the current bottom three to survive.

It means Sean Dyche’s players are suddenly under pressure ahead of their trip to in-form Wolves on Saturday (30 December).

Luton Town host Chelsea earlier that day, thus the Toffees may begin their encounter in the relegation zone. If the prospect of relegation was not already present, it will be if this occurs.
