Seattle star slapped with fine as NFL announce punishment

At Climate Pledge Arena on Monday, Ben Chiarot’s goal at 1:07 of overtime gave the Detroit Red Wings a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Kraken.

Chiarot beat Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord five holes after receiving a pass from Dylan Larkin in the slot.

“It was a nice job by [Lucas Raymond] and [Larkin] driving down the right side,” Chiarot stated. “I discovered a soft area in that slot. “Larks” skillfully executed a backhand pass into me, and I only attempted to fire.”Patrick Kane, who has 800 NHL assists to his credit, was the main assister on Moritz Seider’s goal in the opening frame. He became just the third player born in the United States to reach the milestone, following Phil Housley (894) and Mike Modano (813). In addition, since returning from a lower-body injury on February 10, he has extended his point run to five games (two goals, five assists), making him the second active player with at least 800 assists (Sidney Crosby, 976).

“[Kane] has a great ability to score points,” stated Derek Lalonde, the coach of Detroit. “I adore that he’s fighting to adhere to our team’s rules. He’s made a significant difference in our room.Alex Lyon made 38 saves as the Red Wings (29-20-6) won the last two games of a four-game road trip, led by goals from Daniel Sprong and Raymond.

“It’s always a goal to get as many points from these games on the road, especially this type of road trip with the type of opponents we faced,” Lalonde stated. “Excellent work by the boys to rally and secure two excellent road victories (including on Saturday against the Calgary Flames) against two elite clubs vying for the Stanley Cup Playoff berth.
