Gators Have Lost Him For The Second Time

Everything Billy Napier, Florida’s head coach, stated after the Gators’ last-second, 33-31 defeat to No. 9 Missouri in Week 12.
“I have a great deal of respect for the athletes in that locker room. I have a lot of respect. I am proud of their bunch. I believe we shown some resilience tonight. And, look, you know how difficult it is to be physically, intellectually, and emotionally prepared to play after missing a couple of weeks in a row. To get the team ready to play, I need to praise the leadership. I spoke to the team on Friday on how the finest team leaders improve others around them. They increase their level of play. They are pretty terrific teammates.

They are invested in the other members of the organisation. Ultimately, they improve everyone around them. I believe several of our guys performed admirably over a difficult week. It’s been a difficult couple of weeks here to be constant in their example, words, actions, and, most importantly, getting them ready to play. I believe we recovered, particularly defensively, and played a strong first half of the game. When we examine the film, we’ll notice that there are chances, things we could have done better as a staff, and definitely possibilities for players to make plays.
But they fought. I know what’s going on with those youngsters. I am proud of that. Missouri deserves some credit. I believe the game finally came down to a few turnovers. Certainly an impressive drive by an experienced quarterback to close the game.”
