The Flyers are third in the Eastern Conference’s Metropolitan Division with 67 points. Philadelphia trails the Rangers by 12 points.
According to Broad Street Hockey, Konecny’s injury occurred during team practice. This season, the winger is the lone Flyer to have been selected to the NHL All-Star Game. The squad must rely on its other players to step up and produce offence, especially if their best scorer is absent for an extended length of time. Joel Farabee, the team’s second-leading scorer with 43 points, will play a key part in the offence on Saturday.
Konecny spent his whole NHL career in the city of Brotherly Love. The squad picked the forward in the first round in 2015.
