Another incident occurred during the game. After the whistle, Brendan Smith and Travis Konecny skated to their respective benches. Konecny cross checks him, and Smith responds with a two-handed, blatant (and hazardous) slash.
Both players will face additional sanctions. Konecny will be fined $5000 for the cross-check. Smith gets suspended for two games for slashing Konecny.
It’s fortunate for the Flyers that Konecny did not face any form of punishment, considering he leads the team in goals (12) and points (18).
