Storm skipper Jahrome Hughes is facing a one-game punishment for a Contrary Conduct violation against referee Chris Butler during Saturday night’s win against the Warriors.

Hughes collided with Butler in the 58th minute of the game at AAMI Park while attempting a tackle near the Storm line.

Hughes would miss one game if he pleads guilty early on, but if he fights the accusation and is proven guilty in court, he will miss two.

Following the Raiders’ win over the Wests Tigers, Ethan Strange (careless high tackle) and Xavier Savage (dangerous contact) were charged and fined.

Wests Tigers playmaker Aidan Sezer was charged with a Careless High Tackle on Jordan Rapana in the same match.

Tyson Gamble of Newcastle has been charged with Grade 1 Careless High Tackle. If he pleads guilty early, he will receive a $1000 fine, which will increase to $1500 if he fights the charge unsuccessfully.

Sharks forward Briton Nikora may miss three games for a Careless High Tackle on Viliame Kikau, while Panther Jarome Luai faces two charges from Friday night’s contests.

Nikora was sent to the sin bin for the high shot on Kikau, and because it is his second offence, he risks a two-game suspension with an early guilty plea. Following the Sharks’ Round 5 bye, he would be eligible to return for the Round 6 showdown against the Rabbitohs.

If Nikora fights the case and is found guilty by the court, he will be suspended for three games.

Luai, meantime, is facing two charges following the win over Parramatta: one for tripping and the other for a clumsy high tackle.

The high tackle that caused Bailey Simonnson to leave the field for an HIA has been classified as a Grade 1 and carries a $1800 punishment with an early guilty plea, which will increase to $2500 if Luai fights the charge and loses.
