Due to an incident with referee Chris Butler during Saturday night’s victory over the Warriors, Storm captain Jahrome Hughes will miss one game.
Hughes made contact with Butler as he attempted to make a tackle close to the Storm line in the 58th minute of play at AAMI Park.
An early guilty plea would see Hughes miss one game but that increases to two matches if he fights the charge and is found guilty at the judiciary.
Raiders duo Ethan Strange (careless high tackle) and Xavier Savage (dangerous contact) were charged following their side’s win over Wests Tigers with both facing fines.
Wests Tigers playmaker Aidan Sezer was charged with a Careless High Tackle on Jordan Rapana in the same match and will be fined $1000 if he enters an early guilty plea.
Tyson Gamble of Newcastle has been charged with Grade 1 Careless High Tackle. If he enters an early guilty plea, he will be fined $1000; if he chooses to contest the charge, the cost will increase to $1500.
Due to a careless high tackle on Viliame Kikau, Sharks forward Briton Nikora may lose three games, and Panthers forward Jarome Luai has been charged twice after Friday night’s games.
Since Nikora’s high shot on Kikau was his second offense, he was thrown to the sin bin and now faces a two-game suspension if he enters an early guilty plea. Following the Sharks’ bye in Round 5, he would be eligible to make a comeback for the Round 6 match against the Rabbitohs.
