When Fremantle takes on Brisbane, the grand finalists of the previous season, on Sunday at Optus Stadium, their first squad of 2024 will be led by two Club debutants.
Oscar McDonald, an off-season acquisition, has been picked at halfback, and Sharp, an SSP pick, has been named on the wing.
McDonald, 26, has 86 AFL football games under his belt from his time spent at Melbourne and Carlton, two previous clubs. His backline expertise is a great asset to Fremantle.
One noteworthy absence from the roster of 26 is ruckman Sean Darcy. The outstanding player will be out for three to four weeks after having an arthroscope done on his left knee.
After recuperating from a hamstring issue, Michael Frederick will start again, and Brennan Cox (leg) has been added to the extended squad.
