The Indianapolis Colts utilised the first week of free agency to take care of a lot of internal business. Wide receiver Michael Pittman, linebacker Zaire Franklin, defensive lineman Grover Stewart, and cornerback Kenny Moore were among the players who signed multi-year contracts.
Outside of Indianapolis, the Colts remained pretty quiet. Eric Edholm of NFL.com chastised the Colts for their lack of additions in his post-free agency power rankings. He pushed the Colts down four spots, from 17 to 21.
“On the one hand, it has to be upsetting for Colts fans to realise that, even though the team has shelled out a significant chunk of money this offseason, the roster still doesn’t appear markedly different,” wrote Edholm. “On the other hand, “Raekwon Davis will help keep the defensive line fresh, and I’m not discounting what Joe Flacco could do to help Anthony Richardson improve while also providing the team with a solid safety net in case Richardson suffers another injury at some point.
