BREAKING NEWS: Steelers show massive interest in super star player

Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers were originally thought to be the top destination for former University of Pittsburgh star Tyler Boyd. However, according to The Athletic’s Mark Kaboly, the odds of a deal being reached appear to be dwindling.

Steelers Have Serious Competition From Chiefs And Some Surprising "Dark Horse" Contenders For WR Tyler Boyd

According to Kaboly, not everyone in the Steelers organisation is sold on signing the former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver. While the chance of a transaction remains, it appears to be less realistic than when news of their interest initially appeared.

To this point, Boyd’s reps and the Steelers have discussed moving to Pittsburgh, but the Steelers were competing with the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets.

Since then, the Chiefs have added Marquise Brown, and the Steelers have started exploring elsewhere, signing Van Jefferson and planning a visit with former Los Angeles Chargers receiver Mike Williams.

Boyd, 28, would provide a starter-caliber option in the slot position, but the Steelers may leave that open for someone like Calvin Austin. The third-year receiver improved in his second year despite missing his debut season due to a foot injury. Pittsburgh may see him as their next starter after moving on from Allen Robinson.

As of now, the door is still open, but it appears Pittsburgh is going to go in another path at wide receiver, with Williams being the next favourite to be signed.
