It’s incredible to think that the Red Wings’ youngster has already scored 50 goals in his career. Sure, he’s in his third year now, and there was hope that he’d break out right away, but his sophomore slump in 2022-23 worried some people.

Don’t be concerned. Raymond has put in a lot of work this year, and even though the points aren’t coming in, he’s looking good and on track for a great season. Raymond, as previously stated, finds ways to create scoring chances even when he is absent.

sOn Wednesday, Raymond’s powerplay tuck was a big one, as he grabbed number 50. On the powerplay, he was cycling out front as the Red Wings moved the puck. Raymond was able to catch Fabbri’s pass and then rip it home for the goal.

The following is the play and goal as it occurred on Tuesday night:

Raymond has been looking good lately. Over time, he’s settling in and getting his NHL legs under him. Raymond has appeared in 28 games this season, scoring ten goals and assisting on 14 others for a total of 24 points.

As things stand, he’s on track for an outstanding season. It’s encouraging to see after a “down” year in his sophomore season with the Red Wings. With the Red Wings currently lacking depth, having a player like Raymond step up is critical.

If he can keep stringing together a few good games, especially after a nice milestone goal on Tuesday night, it could help his confidence moving forward. The Red Wings should be pleased with Raymond’s performance, and he appears to be up to the task lately.
