According to the Tampa Bay Times, Mayfield will receive $30 million in 2024 and again in 2025, with an additional $20 million guaranteed in the second year of the contract. The quarterback’s compensation would rise to $40 million in 2026.
Mayfield, who has played for four different teams in the last three seasons, revitalised his career in 2023 by joining the Bucs on a one-year contract following Tom Brady’s retirement and led the team to its third consecutive NFC South crown.
- The No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft threw for a career-high 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns while reducing costly mistakes that derailed prior stints with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams.
