Wild compartmentalizing about news of his impending departure

This season has not been easy for Charlie Stramel. He played nearly his entire freshman season as a top-six center before being selected in the first round by the Wild last year.

While he had trouble scoring in his debut season, he excelled in many other areas. He pushed past opponents and created scoring opportunities with his large 6-foot-3 frame. After 33 games, Stramel concluded his rookie campaign with five goals and twelve points.

Wisconsin made the decision to replace their coaching staff with Minnesota State Mavericks head coach Mike Hastings.

Stramel stated at Wild Development camp that he was excited to get better under the new Wisconsin coaching staff.

In addition to moving his entire staff to the Badgers, Hastings also convinced a few players to switch from the Mavericks.

After Christian Fitzgerald and David Silye, Stramel lines up as the third line center for the Badgers in the opening game of the season. Silye, a senior, and Fitzgerald, a sophomore, are not selected in the draft.
