LATEST NEWS: Lions have lost him and its a bitter blow

Jameson Williams is battling an ankle injury heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Detroit Lions receiver has been trending up for weeks, and made his longest catch yet on Saturday night in Dallas, snagging a 63-yard bomb after getting loose behind the Cowboys defense in the fourth quarter. But he sustained an injury after that, was not able to finish the game and limped out of the locker room after the 20-19 loss went final.

Four days later, Williams has not been cleared to practice as Detroit begins preparations for the finale against the Minnesota Vikings.

Healthy, high-powered offense lifts Detroit Lions to win over Jaguars

The playoffs loom next week, but sounds like concern is low for the injury. Detroit is being cautious with the speedy receiver, and will continue to be cautious with all injured players for the Vikings game. Starters will play as the Lions gun for the No. 2 seed — and avoiding their first losing streak of the season heading into the playoffs — but they will be judicious with players who aren’t fully healthy this late in the season.
