Jim Harbaugh, the former football coach at Michigan, has finally taken the risk and returned to the NFL as the next coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, ending what seemed like an unending period of rumors about his whereabouts.

Only a few short weeks after winning its first national title of the century, Michigan must now prepare for a future marked by significant roster change and a significant void at the head of the program as it searches for a new football coach.

However, it may take the NCAA compliance staff up to two days to process the application and legally add his name to the portal list once that paperwork is filed. As a result, late registrants may still be able to access the portal after the deadline.
