The Texas Rangers have officially scrapped their annual Fan Fest, which was scheduled for Jan. 24, as a winter storm is expected to bring icy conditions to North Texas. In addition to the cancellation, the club announced that its Winter Warm-up Week appearances on Friday and Saturday will no longer take place due to safety concerns.

Fan Fest had been slated to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Globe Life Field in Arlington. However, forecasts calling for frozen precipitation and hazardous travel conditions prompted team officials to call off the event in consultation with local weather experts.

This year’s gathering would have marked the 38th edition of the preseason tradition, typically held early in the year before the team heads to Spring Training. The event serves as a key opportunity for fans to meet players, collect autographs, and celebrate the upcoming season.

All ticket holders will automatically receive refunds through their original method of payment, the team confirmed.

Rangers Chief Business Officer Jim Cochrane acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the decision but emphasized that safety came first.

“It’s disappointing to miss these opportunities for our fans and players to connect this offseason,” Cochrane said. “After consulting with local weather experts, it was clear that this was the right decision. We will continue to seek opportunities to deliver for our fans and we look forward to the start of the 2026 season.”
